Crowns For Queens Project

Introducing the ‘Crowns For Queens Project.’

The concept for ‘Crowns For Queens Project’ was born in February, 2018 while I was in hospital undergoing a Bilateral Mastectomy & Reconstruction. I revisited the Palliative Care ward where I held my brave, beautiful Mum’s hand as her long battle with Metastatic Breast Cancer came to an end. It was here I vividly recalled our conversations about head-wear. She had wigs, turbans, hats & beanies by the hundreds but she wanted something more feminine & unique. I began creating as a therapy throughout my journey Meet The Maker & as a way to cope with grief. At the time, I didn’t realise that I could create what I do today but I know that she would have loved to don a beautiful flower crown.

Through ‘Shabby & Sweet,’ the ‘Crowns For Queens Project’ donates flower crowns to Palliative Care wards as an alternative to traditional headwear. The ‘CFQP’ also has a range of ‘Pink Crowns’ available for purchase with 70% of proceeds going toward Breast Cancer Research. The ‘Pink Crown’ range is approved by the National Breast Cancer Foundation & ‘Shabby & Sweet’ is proud to be supporting NBCF as a Corporate Fundraiser.
